Transfer/ Shift Contacts from Nokia/ Symbian Phone to Android Smartphone without Internet Access/ No Data Plan Activated

NOTE: Please note that this method will work even for those users, who have turned off Google Contacts Sync in their smartphone. These methods can cause a problem as well, that means if you update phone contact, then it will not update Google Contacts automatically. For the same you will need to update, Google Contact on the smartphone as well, that means you will need to add the same number two times.

Method 1: Bluetooth
This is the method recommended for beginners and non-techy persons. You can use your phone’s Bluetooth to transfer the phone between both the (new and old) devices. This is the quickest way to transfer contacts, and easy too. If you do not know how to do that, I am describing below.
  • Firstly pick your old Nokia phone. Then go to settings and turn on the Bluetooth (Or you can do this later too).
  • Now open the ‘Contacts’ in your Nokia phone through the shortcut key you’ve specified, or either from the Menu>Contacts.
  • Now, go ahead and select Mark All from the options. This will select all the contact list, and you’re ready to transfer also.
  • Next, you just need to select Options, and then Send as Business Card> Then select via Bluetooth.
  • If your devices are not paired already, then it’s time to do the same now. Just send all the selected Contacts via Bluetooth, and they should be transferred in 20-30 seconds (Depends on number of Contacts).
With the simple Bluetooth method, you can also send the default Notes app data. Here you go:
  • Go to the Menu and then Open ‘Notes’ app.
  • Now, navigate to the Options>Mark/Unmark> and then Mark all option. This will select your all the notes and you will able to transfer all the notes in one go.
  • Then select Options followed by Send and then send via Bluetooth.
  • Now, pair both (Nokia and Android) phones and you’re ready to go and notes are now transferred to the new device.
However, it is usual fact that Calendar entries works only if you send entries one by one, rather than in bulk with Mark all options.
Through, if you do not like to send the data with Bluetooth then we have another method too in the baggage.

Method 2: Send Contacts/ Calendar/ Notes to Android from Nokia via Computer/ PC
These methods need a computer,  and you need to ensure that you have access to a PC or Laptop. Though, this method does not require and internet connection which is a good thing. This method is unpretentious yet effective and requires only those software which comes bundled with the phone’s package. This method would require Outlook, which would sync software of two phones. This software can be Ovi and Kies/ PC Companion/ HTC Sync etc.). Please follow the method below:
  • Download the OVI Suite and ensure Outlook is working in your PC.
  • Now, go ahead and Sync Nokia phone to Outlook through the Ovi Suite software.
This method would transfer all the data, which other methods we have describe won’t able to do effectively. Just because, in this method, we have used software tools which are preferred way for most of the people.  Though, there is a drawback exists here, you can do the method only once, and will not able to do it again. But not for lifetime, you can again do the same, just erase all contact’s birthday data from Outlook. In ‘Kies’ Sync software include a different format to set up the birthdays. For Example, if you wrote ‘Aamir Shaikh’s Birthday’ on your old Nokia Phone, then it would become ‘Aamir Shaikh. Birthday’ on Android phone. In this case, if you decide to sync the data again, then two entries would be created on your Calender, and this will erase all the previous birthday entries, which includes (‘s) on Outlook and then this will enable Kies to adopt the new format, and no new double connections issue would happen.
I hope methods were easy for you to perform. However, if you need any help in this regard, then comment and lets know, and we will be happy to help.

How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Gear

I. Before You Begin

1. This only works on Windows.
2. You do need access to a Galaxy Gear approved device (i.e. a Galaxy Note 3). Either you must have one, or you must be sneaky enough to go into a Best Buy and use one of theirs really quickly.

II. Bypass Activation Screen on the Galaxy Gear

Unfortunately, we need to access the device’s settings screen but are not able to do that without connecting a device to it first. This means you need a device that is currently compatible with the Gear (at least for a few minutes) to pair with it first then you can finish the rest of the procedure with any device. If you don’t have access to one of these devices, it might be possible to go to a Best Buy store with your Galaxy Gear and simply pair to one of the demo Galaxy Note 3′s in there then walk out once it’s done, but the staff at the store might punch you in the face for that. Maybe.
1. Go to Settings and enable NFC on the Galaxy Gear approved phone (i.e. Galaxy Note 3).
2. Hold the Galaxy Gear Charging Dock to the back of the Galaxy Gear approved phone and wait for it to install Gear Manager.
3. Follow the prompts on the Gear approved phone to connect to the Gear until the Gear shows the time on it indicating it is past the activation process.

III. Enable USB Debugging on the Galaxy Gear and Install Drivers

Next, we need to enable USB Debugging on the Gear so we can connect to it from the computer.
1. Go to Settings > Gear Info > and Tap Software Version 10 times.
2. Go back.
3. Enable USB Debugging on the Galaxy Gear.
4. Download the Samsung USB Drivers to your Desktop.
5. Right-click the .zip file you downloaded and click extract all.
6. Double-click the .exe file inside to install the drivers.
7. Plug in the Galaxy Gear via USB by putting it in it’s charging dock and plugging in a USB cable from it to the computer. Let the drivers install.

IV. Root the Galaxy Gear

After installing enabling USB Debugging and installing the ADB drivers, we can connect to it via USB from our computer and gain root access.
1. Download Cydia Impactor and save it to your Desktop.
2. Right-click the .zip file and click Extract All.
3. Double-click the Impactor .exe file inside the newly extracted folder.
4. When it opens, it should show # drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su in the field. If it does, click Start. If it doesn’t, put it in there manually, then click Start.
5. When it pops an error about allowing the connection, click Always allow and click OK on your Galaxy Gear.
6. Close the error and click Start again. This time it should proceed with the process.
7. Download Wondershare Mobile Go (the Free Trial will work just fine), save it to your Desktop, and double-click the .exe file to install it.
8. Open Wondershare on your computer.
9. Once it opens, click on Google Play Apps.
10. Search for and install SuperSU (free version by Chainfire).
11. Open SuperSU on the Galaxy Gear by swiping over to Apps from the homescreen then swiping through that to find SuperSU and tapping it.
12. When prompted to update the SU Binary, tap yes.
After that, you are all set and rooted.
Rooted and wana get it unrooted again? stay tuned for the next post on How to UNROOT Samsung Galaxy Gear

6. Pin Any Item to the Taskbar

By default, Windows 7 only lets you pin applications to the taskbar. But if you want to pin a different item like a file or folder, follow these easy steps.

To access the open a command option, hold down the Shift key and right-click a folder.
This tip only works for Windows 7 or Vista. To do this on Windows XP, you must use a registry hack.

8. Access the Secret "Send To" Menu

Did you know that there is a secret "Send To" menu that you can access with the Shift key? Hold down Shift, right-click the folder and select the "Send To" menu. This lets you access a whole new set of file locations, so you can quickly re-locate a folder without the hassle.

9. Modify the Default "Send To" Menu

If you want to change the options that appear in your default "Send To menu," type "shell:sendto" into the location bar of a folder. You can then drag and drop new folder locations to the Send To folder.

10. Open Any File or Webpage

The Run Command is an easy way to open any file, application or website. Use the Win+R keyboard shortcut to open the Run dialog box. From here, type in the name of any application and hit Enter. You can also enter a URL directly into this field to open up any webpage.

11. Create a Zip Folder

A zip folder is the quickest way to transport a large selection of files. To create a zip folder, right click a regular file folder and select the "Send To" option. The "Compressed (zipped) Folder" option will compress your folder and make it easier to upload the files in one fell swoop.
